30th Wedding Anniversary Gifts

My Truth

Hello, my wonderful Kathryn,
these special words are just for you,
because I am very proud of who you are,
and I’m very proud of all that you do.

And I just wanted to say “I love you lots”
but in truth, I didn’t know where to start,
so I thought I’d share a few feelings and
give you some words, straight from the heart…

Firstly, I’d like to begin by looking skywards,
and thanking God in the heavens above,
because I know I’ve been blessed to have shared you,
yes, I know that I have been blessed with your love.

And we’ve certainly come a long way in thirty years,
yes, do you remember our smiles? December 8, 1979.
That was the day when two became the one,
the day when all that was and is, became mine.

I know God was smiling on the day that we married
and thirty years on, I know He wouldn’t change a thing,
because Kathryn, you’ve been the diamond in my life,
yes, you’ve proven the gold in this, our wedding ring.

I want you to know that I love you, very much indeed,
in fact, I love you more than anything on planet Earth,
for with you in my life, I know I am complete, yes,
Kathryn, I really do appreciate your true and honest worth.

Officially, I’d like to thank you for our two sons,
I think of you all and my chest fair swells with pride,
as I know they couldn’t have chosen a finer mother,
I know they couldn’t – even if they’d tried.

Thanks for ‘really’ enjoying those fishing vacations,
but there was no pretence on our 25th anniversary cruise,
yes, we were, once again, like teenagers in love,
with the (Disney) World at our feet, with nothing to lose.

You’re the most honest and wonderful person I know,
truth: I’ve never really said just how wonderful you are,
just know that if my love for you were a distance,
well, it would reach way beyond the furthest star.

You see, you have always put your family first,
yes, so very often, ‘you’ is the last thing on your mind,
that’s why you make such an incredible and loving mom,
yes, I know what we have is rare and so hard to find.

You see, your love has warmed and guided me, it’s
my truth: It’s the love that’s in my heart, my very soul,
for with you in my life, I am complete, yes,
you are the one that makes me completely whole.

And I just wanted to say Happy 30th Anniversary,
I guess that’s really what these words are for,
here’s to you, Kathryn, you’re truly wonderful,
and here’s to our everlasting love, for evermore.

My favorite verse is where you start I know God was smiling on the day we married   etc.  however  in that stanza for the card in front I would like to change Kathryn to Kathy.   Also  Ilove you so very much ,Tom     classsic range-creame, paper-single rose,ribbon -red satin Thank You, Allen”
