The Inspiration For This Song:
What is your name : Juley
Who do you want your song written for: My soon to be husband (Dave).
Why do you want your song written: I would like to play this song on our wedding
day (reception). Since I've meet Dave (3.5 years), I find myself making and
singing silly little songs to him about ordinary things we do each day (sort of
like a mini musicals).
I always wanted to write him a song for our wedding. Unfortunately I was not
blessed with the talent of songwriting. I realized I needed some help (my songs
seemed to be around two sentences long until I run out of words that rhythm) if
I wanted to make this happen. It would mean a lot to me to be present him with
a "completed" song about how much he means to me.
What are the key messages you would like to send: I would like the song to be
able to express the following.. feelings I have for Dave. How much I have
learned from him and how much I am looking forward to sharing the future
together.
I would like is the song could some how play off Dave's car interest. Maybe
somehow incorporate a playful car theme.
Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments
that you would like to share: Dave and I met in 2001. It was a slow developing
relationship, but we stuck to it and it later bloomed into a loving, caring
relationship. We are so different (Dave: computer guy, logic thinker. Me: care
free spirit, artsy) but so alike in many ways. We see each other quirks, but
understand that these are the things that make us special.
Dave is not too much into the arts as I am, but appreciates my interest. He
claims he can't draw, but he proved himself wrong when he painted me a painting
of the tree (with us under it) where he proposed to me. It brought tears to my
eyes. It was one of the most beautiful paintings I ever saw.
Dave loves cars. I soon realized his passion for cars at the being of our
relationship, when I noticed certain items scattered throughout his place were
parts to his Delorean. It took him 5 years to rebuild the Delorean from 17
boxes. He called this project " Project Vixen". I was so proud of him when he
had the unveiling of the "Vixen". He accomplished something that people
doubted anyone could do.
Going to junkyards would be a normal thing for Dave, I on the other hand I
thought it might be boring, but to my surprise it was a lot of fun, because I
was looking at all the parts as potential art sculptures. It got to the point
where I would take the letters of the car names and spell little love sayings
for Dave and leave them on the trunks of the cars to discover.
Through David's passion, I also grew an interest in cars. In 2003, I purchased
my first classic car, a Gremlin X. Dave was very patient with me in the whole
process of not only purchasing the car, but also taking the time to share with
me his knowledge on how to fix it. I was so proud when I could say I rebuilt my
own carburetor (and so was Dave). During my "car maintenance " lessons, Dave
would refer to the book "The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" when I was working
on the car and would remind me to "bend like a willow tree.
Through his passion of cars I have discovered a lot of things about the man I am
going to marry, but I also have learned quite a few things about myself.
Someday we would like a little farmhouse with a little piece of land. Dave
would like a big garage for his (and my Gremlin X) cars. I hope this dream of
his can come true for us. It would be fun taking a country road to our little
piece of paradise.
Dave is a very compassionate and caring individual. He is always trying to help
others (and animals). That's how he got his nickname MacGyver, he's always
fixing something. If it's helping someone with their car or taking care of a
little squirrel that got hurt. His heart is always in the right place. He even
takes the time to fix my feet (rubs them to they feel better) and sometimes my
broken heart. For example, Dave will places little cheer-up notes through out
the place or reminds me how pretty I am. This always guarantees a smile from
me.
Do you have any other comments or thoughts: -Dave proposed to me under a big old
tree (I love trees) in Florida.
-One of our first dates was at a drive-in Movie Theater. Until a couple of
years ago, I would still find popcorn in that car from our date. 
-Dave liked the book "The Zen of Motorcycle Maintenance".
-Dave has 5 cars: Delorean, 1958 Red Plymouth, 1959 Blue Desoto, 1968 Black
Cadillac convertible, 1979 Monte Carlo, his high school car that he would like
to restore (currently being stored in a limestone cave).
-Dave always reminds me how "HOT" he is. It would be fun to somehow put that in
the song.
-Dave would like a pet skunk someday.
-We hope to have children in the future.
-One of his goals/dream is to have a garage for all his cars.
-Dave enjoys going to car cruises and car events together.
-Dave likes the 1950's era.
-He enjoys drinking Dr. Pepper
-Dave is a fabulous cook. The creations he can cook up are out of this world!
-Dave and I traveled to the following places together: Hershey (PA), Carlisle
(PA), New Orleans, upper state New York and Florida.
-Dave got his nickname "MacGyver" since he can fix anything and I mean anything,
including my sore feet  and sometimes my broken heart.
-Dave's nickname comes from the TV Show called "MacGyver". The main character
is a different kind of hero - he doesn't use weapons, he's afraid of heights,
and he's an expert at making complicated machines out of ordinary things.
Sounds like Dave to me!
-Dave likes to pick me daisies.
What style of song would you prefer (happy, sad, romantic etc.): Please have a
mix of happy, romantic and silly/humorous
Do you have any last comments or thoughts: Yes I would like the basic package
($199.50) plus the song without words ($8.00). Thank you!
