My husband was married before but never had children. We are both looking forward to having a family and I can't wait to be a mother, and can't wait to see him be the BEST father he can be!

I was 34 years old and had just given up on ever getting married and finding my Prince. I placed it in God's hands and a true miracle was sent my way....an angel....my husband! How blessed I am that God has sent him to me. He is EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING, that I have always dreamed of. He treats me like a queen every SINGLE day of my life (opens doors, buys flowers, leaves me a message at work each morning telling me how much he loves me, leaves love notes in my lunch).

After just 3 1/2 months of dating, he proposed in our local newspaper on Valentine's Day. The caption read: Karen, this is your time, this is our time. I love you forever! WILL YOU MARRY ME? DAVE From that day on, it was a whirlwind. We built a house and planned a wedding in 8 short months. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: There are so many happy, happy memories in the 2 years we have been married. We have been on many vacations: Dominican Republic, Cancun (where I dislocated my shoulder playing tequila water volleyball!), Cleveland, Baltimore, Atlanta, The Poconos & Toronto. We have built our dream home and have made it our "own". There is no place on this earth that I would rather be, than spending the rest of my life with my dream come true.

Do you have any other comments or thoughts : On our wedding invitation we placed this quote, that we both loved:

"I put my hand in yours; you have my life forever."

My EVERYTHING

I wanted to thank you for your unyielding support,

especially through the tough times of trying to conceive,

for you gave me your constant love, understanding and compassion,

and with that, you gave me my very own dream to believe.

I know you didn't find true love until you met me,

and that we're both so looking forward to having a family,

but in the meantime, I just wanted to thank you for being you,

you've made my world a great and better place to be.

As you know, I just can't wait to be a mother,

and I know you're going to make the finest father on this Earth,

because you are my everything, I mean, my EVERYTHING,

yes, husband, I do appreciate your true and honest worth.

Because I was 34 years old and had just about given up,

I never thought I'd find my prince, but I put it in God's hands,

and then a true miracle happened, for He sent you to me, my angel,

(it's so comforting to know that He listens and understands).

Because you are everything I have ever dreamed of,

and you've filled every single crack in what was a lonely soul,

and I know that with you in my life, I'm complete,

yes, Dave, you are the one that makes me completely whole.

You open doors, buy me flowers, leave messages and love notes,

you treat me just like a queen on every single day of my life,

and Dave, I just wanted to say I'm proud of you,

I'm very proud and honored to be called "your wife".

Of course, I'll never forget your so romantic proposal,

after three and a half months, there it was in black and white,

"this is our time. I love you forever! WILL YOU MARRY ME?"

in that moment, where was darkness, there was your love, my light.

Because from that day on, it was a blur, a whirlwind,

in just 8 months, we built a house and had our wedding day,

and do you know? I'd do it all again in a heartbeat,

and that one line leaves so much to say:

Because I'll never forget all our wondrous adventures,

on the compass, it seems we've traveled to every point

the Dominican, Cleveland, Baltimore, The Pocono's and Toronto.

& of course, Cancun (where I pulled my shoulder out of it's joint!).

But we've built our own dream joint and have made it our "own",

and I can think of no finer place to be, than us being together,

because for the rest of my life, my dream will have come true, so,

I put my hand in yours; you have my life forever.

Karen kindly replied:

"Allen,

I have been anxiously awaiting your draft and it could not have come at a better time. I know you don't want to know the details of my personal and private life but I thought I was pregnant and I'm not, so I was pretty bummed when I woke up this morning. I thought I'd check my e-mail while my husband is still sleeping and low and behold, there was your poem. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! You did an incredible job and captured everything I wanted to say. I could not stop crying when I was reading it! I would be honored if you published it on your website; the only objection I would have would be to not use my last name. I am going to choose the Sunset paper."

and later, when Karen had given Dave the poem:

"Allen,

I am sending this e-mail as a thank you from the bottom of my heart. You wrote a poem for my husband for our second anniversary entitled "My Everything". I cried when I read it and when I gave it to my husband I was surprised he didn't cry (he's very emotional). So I asked him if he liked it. He said "It's the most beautiful poem I've ever read and it's the best gift you've ever given me." I was so pleased that he enjoyed it and moreover, we will have it forever. Your work is incredible and I've already told others about your work. I know I plan to use you in the future. Thanks again!
