We're having a shower to welcome new babies (found by adoption in other countries) to 2 families in our fellowship. Several of us have our own adopted children and know their
thrill. Both have big sisters. I found with my own children there just aren't enough ways to celebrate.
There's much floweriness for newly born children but it's not quite right for children born 1-2 years ago somewhere else that are now
joining families here. Adoptive mother of 25 years. Just added our last, now 2 years old. Older mothers r-u-l-e! One family has 4 year old
home grown girl and adopted a Russian-born boy 2 years old. Other has 10 year old Korean-born girl from 1st marriage and adopted a
Korean-born boy 1 year old. This doubles the size of our Religious Ed Nursery Class. This makes families with adopted children the majority in our Fellowship. This poetry is a neat idea. I may try something myself. Our shower for them is actually Sat but We can use the poem later at a dedication service. TIA. Hope I gave enough details.Kathyann
Little Friend
Hello, my little friend,
I'm so glad that you're here,
I'm happy that I can hold you,
I'm happy that you're near.
Come here with us now,
we'll show you a new start,
we'll show you our love for you,
we'll give you, unconditionally, our heart.
I know life has been tough for you,
I'm sorry, life just isn't fair,
but happiness can be yours,
and we'll take you there.
So welcome to your new life,
your new destiny awaits,
bottled in tiny little ships,
guided by various winds and fates.
