Unique Birthday Gift

	One of the nice things about doing what I do is that over the years I get to know some of my clients very well. After all, I do get involved in some of their more pivotal moments. I have written several for Tanya and this one was for her best friend's birthday:

"By the way you did a poem for my brother in May for his graduation you can put it on your site, he loved it, and was crying the whole time that he was reading it there is something about these poems that you do that is just wonderful its like they are jumping right out at ya all I have to say is that you do awesome work!!!!!"

Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: The roller Rink that is were we met, we hated each other and one nite it was dead and we hit it off and started hanging out together Her Husband and my husband are really good friends too so we all have this bond, We love to go 4 wheeling I will never forget the time she flipped her 4 wheeler and I about had a heart attack I forgot to try to stop before i got off to help her out. Our trip to sturgis south dakota this August it was a blast, I want her to know that no matter what happens I'm always there for her.

Do you have any other comments or thoughts : I have a hard time with these cause I can't think how things would just go in a poem, Let her know how much her friendship means and that I hope this is a birthday that she will never forget cause I know that she will be crying, if this poem is like any of my other ones that you have done.

A Can Of Beans

Karla, you are such a beautiful person,
and I wanted to say thanks for being my friend,
I want you to know how much I care about you,
(I think you'll know before these lines have their end).

Our school days seem like such a long time ago,
but in that time, girl, we have really grown,
and I just wanted to thank you for being you, yes,
I'm very grateful for all the love that you've shown.

When I get too old to go out and do things,
and yes, by that time, I guess my hair will be gray,
just know that even then, you'll still be my best friend,
and that one line leaves so much to say:

We've come a long way from The Roller Rink,
we hated each other but one dead night we truced,
in truth, we hit it off and started hanging out together,
teenage girls in all their finery, washed and spruced.

Not quite the way we are when we're four wheeling,
and it's so great that our husbands really get along,
because it's fantastic that we all share this bond,
we have such a blast, even on the days it goes all wrong..

But we also had a blast on our trip to Sturgis,
and I want you to know that I'll always be there for you,
no matter what happens, come hell or high water,
just call, if you ever need a friend to help you through.

Because you've been there when I needed you most,
just like last year when I had that essential surgery,
you were both there the very next day, so thank you,
you've made my world a much better place to be.

In truth, I'm struggling to say what's here in my heart,
I'm just trying to tell you what our friendship means,
I guess I'm trying to say it's worth a lot to me,
all the tea in China? Certainly, not just a can of beans.

You see, true friendship is worth as much as love,
and together, they're more valued than precious gold,
and Karla, I just wanted to say "Happy Birthday",
and by the way, sorry, because you're getting old!
