What is your name : Kristy

Why do you want the poem written: For his birthday.

What are the key messages you would like to send: I am very proud of him, he was in the war in Iraq, he is a sniper for the Marine Corp. He has been home a year now from the war and two surgeries later. He stayed in Iraq injured (torn cartilage in his knee, and a broken femur head) he refused treatment because he would not leave his team members. I am so proud of him and he is my hero. We have known each other for 8 years and I have loved all those years even though we could not be together for 6 of those years. We share a love that is so close that it is like we read each other and feel that things are going to happen before they even do. It is the most amazing thing I have ever felt. The last two years have been wonderful even if he was in the war for over 5 months. I knew how much danger he was in because he was one of the first marines into Baghdad. He has a son and I love him very much also, I am so glad that he shares him with me. I wrote to him over 100 letters he was gone 118 days. He called me from the UN building in Baghdad, I was so excited. He was so good about calling when he could even though it was not often and sometimes on a satellite phone.

Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: When he got home from the war as he walked up that road and was carrying the flag it was so amazing and I was so proud. I also got to meet his dad unexpectedly that night a surprise to both of us. I have my blond moments at times that he loves to tease me about. I know that he hates that he opens up to me and shares things with me that he does not ever do. We have had crazy, fun times at the river, the horse races, Vegas, motorcycle riding is one thing we love to do together (wheelys) I love that he sings to me!!! He gives the best gifts they are always so thoughtful.

Do you have any other comments or thoughts: I just really believe that we are meant to be together it is a sign that we both realize (we always talk about signs) Even when we weren't together for those years we talked and never forgot each other. I have never loved anyone the way that I love him and feel the connection that I feel with him. He is my amazing lover, my very best friend, and as I always tell him and he tells me I love you to the moon and back. I am so proud of him and I can't wait until we are together.

I just love him so much and I can not tell you how happy I am that he is home safe and even though we are still in separate states my heart is with him always. Hello, my wonderful handsome prince,

these words are just for you,

because I'm proud of who you are,

and yes, I'm very proud of what you do.

And now you've served your time in Iraq,

(but you refused treatment not to let down the team),

and I just wanted you to know that you're my hero,

you really are my perfect man, my ideal dream.

We have known each other for 8 years now,

and I loved you for all that time (with all my heart),

although we could not be together for six of those years,

it was only mere circumstance that kept us apart.

We share a love that is so special and so close,

it's like we can read and feel each other's mind,

and I know a love like ours is so very rare,

it's a precious treasure and so very hard to find.

This is the most amazing thing I've ever felt,

with you, I feel closer to the heavens above,

because with you, I've experienced the firmament,

with you, I've known the wonder of your love.

The last two years have been simply wonderful,

even if we weren't together for all of that time,

and I knew how much danger you were in,

I'm just so glad that there's still words to rhyme.

Just know that I also love JJ very much,

and I also know that you're one very proud Dad,

You called me from the UN building in Baghdad,

I was so excited, I was just home alone,

in fact, you were so very good about calling me,

I'll never forget the day you came home from war,

proudly holding the flag as you walked up that road,

it was so amazing, I was so very proud,

never has so much, to so few, been owed.

Unexpectedly, I got to meet your Dad that night,

and to both of us, that was a lovely surprise,

it was real pleasure to meet your father,

a truly great day, I felt like I'd won first prize.

I'm looking forward to the day when we will be together

when you're next to me, no longer interstate,

just know that I'd nurse you forever and a day,

after all, you are my one and only soul-mate.

Now, I know that I have my blond moments,

and that's something you've been known to tease me about,

but I just wanted to say that this blond thinks you're so handsome,

and you're beautiful on the inside (as well as the out).

I know that you hate it when you open up to me,

but believe me, don't leave that stuff inside,

because I tell you what I feel when I think of you,

I have this enormous and magnificent sense of pride.

We've had crazy, fun times down at the river,

races, Vegas, motorcycling and doing wheelies together,

memories that are very precious to me,

and ones that'll last forever and ever.

I love it when you sing to me,

and we both realize we've seen the sign,

I have never loved anyone like I love you,

I'm just so happy that you're mine.

The connection I can feel with you is electric,

you are my amazing lover, my very best friend,

and not only will I love you to the moon and back,

I'll love you long after I find the Universal end.

And I'm so glad that you're back home safe,

because I've never really said just how wonderful you are,

but if my love for you were a distance,

then it would be further than the furthest star.

"I really love it I made a few changes but that should be it. Thanks I also wanted the satin paper and the gold outside look. I was wondering if we could add something about I am looking forward to the day when we will be together that is what I dream for he is in another state and I am in Texas so we only get to see each other a few days out of a months time. Also when he got back from the war he had two surgeries in which I took care of him these were injuries he got while in the war.

Ok I think for the verse on the front I would like it to say this verse

from the Bible:

"Don't ask me to leave you or turn back from you. Where you go I will go and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if anything but death separates you and me. Ruth 1: 16 & 17"

And I think you asked for what I would want written inside. Correct me if this is wrong. But I think I would like this:

Happy Birthday my love, may you know how special and loved you are by these special words. I just wanted you to know that my life is more fulfilled because I share it with you.
