Why do you want the poem written ?: Mother's 60th Birthday (May 6, 1942)
being celebrated May 5, 2002

Key Messages:          How much she is: appreciated and loved. She always puts the
members of her family before herself (husband, daughter, son, son, daughter-in-laws, and grandkids). She's always been there for us and even though we are grown, she's still
there whether it be time, money, like gifts here and there, etc.

She also was diagnosed with Lupus when no one knew what it was shortly after my youngest brother was born. Quite a few people died from it back then, but she fought and all
these years she has never let it stop her - we very much admire her.

Other Comments:        I'm thinking that it would be nice to have presented to her
from all three of us kids rather than just myself? (Doreen, Darin and Danny)

FYI - her parents died when she was young teenager and she didn't have any brothers or sisters. Mine and Darin's father was killed at the age of 24 and left behind me (2 1/2) and
Darin (couple months old). She remarried shortly thereafter and then had Danny.

She hasn't had an easy life, but you would never know it.

Superb At Sixty

Hello, my wonderful mother,

these words are just for you,

because we're proud of who you are,

and we're proud of what you do.

You are so very beautiful,

you're as pretty on the in as the out,

and you've taught this family so very well,

you've simply taught us what love is all about.

You are literally our inspiration,

you're a wonderful guiding light,

you make sunshine out of rain clouds,

you make mornings out of the darkest nights.

You've always been there for us,

and still are today, even when we're all full grown,

we're so grateful for your warmth,

and the love and kindness that you've shown.

Yours, at times, was a rock strewn path,

but you kept your head up, mile after rocky mile,

and you've certainly had your crosses to bear,

but you've always carried them with a smile.

You were left alone at a tender age,

how you must have missed your Mom and Dad,

and of all your trials and tribulations,

that must have been the toughest you've ever had.

You've lost loved ones along the way,

but sometimes things are just meant to be,

and despite all, you've built a loving family,

and you've done it so beautifully.

You're simply an inspiration to us all,

and we're grateful for the lessons that you've taught,

the love and kindness that you've selflessly given,

is a priceless treasure that can't be bought.

You literally mean the world to us,

you do so very much for everyone,

you are indeed our warmth, our inspiration,

you are in every ray our morning sun.

And sometimes we take you for granted,

we get consumed in the trivia of our lives,

but just know that it's because of you,

it's because of you every one of us simply thrives.

So we just wanted to say thanks,
