Q1:
What is your Name?
A1: Rhonda Huffman
Q2: What is your Email Address?
A2: edh13@cableaz.com
Q3: Who do you want the poem written for ?
A3: Hospice Family Care Owners, Staff, & Volunteers
I am the blessed General Manager for a company of awesome owners and angelic
nurses and staff. They make my job easy and I couldn't do it without their
dedication and the owners guidance and leadership!
Q4: Why do you want the poem written ?
A4: We are having a Christmas Party Dec. 7th in which the Owners will be
attending with my 100+ staff, physicians and volunteers. I want to give them a
poem as my gift to the company, and staff.
Q5: What are the key messages you would like the poem to send ?
A5: Hospice Family Care is such an appropriate, descriptive name; We the staff
are truly a family and the love and "Care" that the owners, nurses,
staff and volunteers give to our terminally ill patients, families and each
other is awe-inspiring!
Q6: Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable
moments that you would like to share ?
A6: Our company was started by two visionary nurses Nancy Smith & Nancy
Turner (Nancy's) in 1992. We are celebrating our 9th Anniversary! Our company
has gone through many ups and downs! Certain people who were allowed to run the
company ran it down into the ground. "Jim Dobbyn's" is the man we all
hated that almost ruined the company! The company was suppose to have been
sold, but as destiny had it, it didn't happen and the Nancy's took over and
brought us back to bigger and better than ever before! We have just emerged from
a re-0rganization (Chapter 11) bankruptcy. We have survived some devastating
Medicare Surveys. We all hate Donna Diamond (Main Medicare Surveyor) with a deep
passion! (We all make fun and laugh now at the names Donna Diamond and Jim
Dobbyn's) During our Medicare survey we gave a nickname to the little yellow
post-it notes, FLYN's
(Fu.... Little Yellow Notes); we still use this term throughout the office,5
years later. Our nurses and all of our employees are top notch! They have given
110% of themselves to get our company back on it's feet! They work day in and
day out caring for patients that are dying and dealing with grief ridden
families! They go above and beyond everyday! They give of themselves
unselfishly! They do the extra things for our patients that bring true happiness
to their last days!
Q7: Do you have any other comments or thoughts ?
A7: If you can acknowledge all of the different disciplines that we have or
incorporate even some of them into the poem.
nurses
coordinators
clinical assistants
nursing assistants
social workers
pastors
hospice doctors
volunteers (they play such an important part in the staff & patient's
lives!)
If you can't just some acknowledgement of the nursing teams, office staff,
psychosocial staff, physician's and volunteers, would also work!
Q8: What style of poem would you prefer ? (Happy, sad, romantic etc.)
A8: Kind of mushy, inspiring, with a few laughs!
I am sorry I am so wordy! There just isn't enough I can say about how truly
awesome this company is and every individual person!
Q9: How did you find out about A Gift Of Poetry ? (If a search engine, please
specify which engine and search term you used)
A9: I used you for my Grandmother
Delores birthday this year!
Q10: Choose either the economy, standard, unique or deluxe package.
A10: Unique
Truly Awesome
Ladies
and gentlemen,
Can
I have your attention please?
Every
now and then in life,
There’s
opportunity you should seize.
Because
days, weeks, months happen,
And
the years they can go so fast,
And
words that should get said,
Don’t,
and if they do they never last.
So
I’m going to change all that,
And
change it right here and right now,
I
don’t know whether the right words will come along,
But
I’ll give it my best shot, anyhow.
I
have so many “thank you's” to say,
I’d
better start without further ado,
Because
I just wanted to thank you,
And
thank you, you, you and you. (pointing)
Now
before I get going,
And
I don’t mean to dwell on the past,
But
I reckon that Donna Diamond,
Can
stick her FLYN’s right up her ---- !
And
as for Jim Dobbyn,
What
a robbing S-O-B he turned out to be,
I
know it’s unfair to hate one man so much,
But
he nearly destroyed our company.
But
thanks to the Nancy’s (again),
We’re
bigger and better than before,
And
we’ll keep on our family caring,
In
fact, we’ll keep on for evermore.
So
thanks are in order,
To
every single one of you,
I’m
proud of who you are,
And
I’m proud of what you do.
You
are simply awesome,
An
inspiration to us all,
You
make my job so easy,
And
I feel about ten feet tall.
So
thanks – to the owners,
For
their cash, dedication and support,
Their
kind of loyalty,
Is
a gift that can’t be bought.
So
thanks – to the nurses,
Thank
you for your tender loving care,
You
do a very tough job so unselfishly,
(and
I know at times life can be unfair).
So
thanks – to the assistants,
They
are the vital cogs in this wheel,
They
do their job with such passion,
With
an energy that you can feel
So
thanks – to the social workers,
Who
are there when they’re needed the most,
You
too, do such a fine and great job,
So
I think it’s OK for you to proudly boast.
So
thanks – to the coordinators,
Whose
co-ordination skills are plain to see,
They
make this place tick like clockwork,
And
they make it a better place to be.
So
thanks – to the pastors,
Whose
words give platitude and peace,
They
work so tirelessly,
My
heartfelt gratitude will never cease.
So
thanks – to the doctors,
Their
dedication is always on show,
They
treat our cares so wonderfully,
We’re
so grateful (and you need to know).
So
thanks – to the volunteers,
Who
give all for barely a cent,
Thanks
from the very bottom of our souls,
Your
time is certainly valued and well spent.
Any
my sincere thanks to everybody,
Who
plays a part in this well-oiled machine,
You
are the finest team in the world,
You’re
the best team that there’s ever been.
You’re
all truly awesome,
And
I sincerely hope that we never part,
So
THANKS - a very sincere thank you,
Thanks
from the very bottom of my heart.

"Dear Allen,
Once again, you have come through with a gem! This one seemed like it was going to be tough, but you covered it all and expressed my true feelings poetically! Thank you for sharing your gift in turn allowing me to give a unique and special gift to my staff!
Happy Holidays!
Thank You, Rhonda Huffman
The Background I would like the single rose! The logo of our company includes a red rose wrapped around the name of the company, which is very fitting! I would like it autographed and original hand drafts!
Please feel free to publish comments and poem!
Thank You
Rhonda"
