A Unique Way To Say "Goodbye" (Here's a good example of what can be achieved. After Pat's death, Lisa wanted to express her sympathy to her close friends. Lisa has kindly given her permission for her poem and story to be published)
I've Tried
What is your name : Lisa
Korstad Who do you want the poem
written for: Becky, Marina, and Danielle Dimanto Why do you want the poem
written: Pat DiManto just died after a three year fight with cancer. He
was married to Becky DiManto, father of Marina and Danielle. The three were the
loves of his life. He was only 52. What style of poem would you
prefer (happy, sad, romantic etc.): Definitely Happy-he was the happiest
man I've ever known Please choose which package
you would prefer : Express Would you like a copy of the
handwritten drafts : Yes What are the key messages
you would like to sent: Pat Dimanto was extremely thoughtful, generous,
always more concerned with those around him than for himself, sweet, great
singer/dancer, loved motown music, nascar race driver, a great family man, loved
his two daughters, Danielle and Marina, married to the love of his life, Becky
(also his high school sweetheart, extremely successful commercial building
contractor, quietly philanthropic, ALWAYS up for a great time with family and
friends (especially in Hawaii at Longhi's or Hula Grill), he also loved his
nascar that used to be Mark Martin's. He loved going to the AT&T Pebble Beach
golf tournament, Hawaii, annual Disneyland trip with friends, the 4th of July at
the beach houses in Santa Cruz, Do you have any funny, sad,
happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share:
He loved life so much, his passions always included being surrounded by
friends, sharing all the gifts he had to offer. He was so genuinely touched by
the small things in life. At Disneyland, he loved watching the fireworks, then
at the end of the show having it snow all over us. He always had a huge smile on
his face, happy to be alive, especially happy to see others happy. Do you have any other
comments or thoughts : He had a way of making everyone feel like family.
He had a saying, "Every day is Friday, and every Friday is New Year's". He was
like an uncle to me and my sister Kelly. He was my parents best friend. He was
born and lived his life in San Jose, Ca. San Jose is a city of 1 million
people-he was so well loved by everyone that the city sold out of flowers for
the family and the funeral, when we died. He changed the life of everyone he
met, and we're all better for having known him. I'm lucky to have such an
amazing person be a big influence on my life.

Lisa kindly replied: "The poem is great - I've made changes in red
(included in above draft. Ed.). Please let me know what my balance is,
and where to pay that. Also, we have no objections to posting it, no
need to change any names."
