We were lucky enough to be adopted by a starving, pregnant tabby cat who turned up on our door step one day. We fed her and she stayed with us for the next couple of years and was the closest my children have ever come to owning a pet. Sadly, she was run over and these were the words we said for her at her farewell.
 
Muffin
 
Here lies our beautiful,
Beautiful tabby cat,
She came into our life,
And we are grateful just for that.
 
You see only yesterday,
An angel came flying by,
And took one look at Muffin,
Then went back into the sky.
 
So now Muffin's gone,
A gap that's hard to fill,
And so we will always remember,
We'll plant a daffodil.
 
And I'm happy in the knowledge,
As she gives new life a start,
That she will always have,
A special place in my heart.
