Maybe an angel was lonely,
and needed a play mate,
maybe just a tragic accident,
a cruel twist and turn of fate.
I don't know the reason,
the answers I've searched and sought,
I've tried adding up the logic,
and today it comes to nought.
They say "everything for a reason",
but now it's not that clear,
how I wish it could be different,
and how I wish that you was here.
You loved life so very much,
you lived it to the full,
you were always doing something,
you never had a moment that was dull.
You had big deep blue eyes,
like an ocean, so deep and still,
I'll always remember you so lovingly,
I'll never forget you, I never will.
And life's early years,
are certainly the pick of the crop,
and if you can ever beat this world,
seven is the time when you're on top.
We all miss and love you so very much,
and will until our journey's end,
so go and play with your angel,
and go out a winner my friend.

"This poem is beautiful and perfect, I will
take this one too, but I need one shorter to fit onto his footstone, the size of
the stone is 2 feet by 1 feet, I don't think this one will fit on it. You
are a very gifted person, and I appreciate your fast response"
Footnote:
We decided that the last verse would be very apt for the footstone:
We all miss and love you so very much,
and will until our journey's end,
so go and play with your angel,
and go out a winner my friend.
