Who do you want the poem written for?: My Husband, Josh

Why do you want the poem written ?: To let him know how much he means to me, how Special he is and how much I appreciate everything he does. He says that he wonders sometimes why I love him, but I just wish for 1 moment he could see himself through my eyes, then perhaps he could see how wonderful he really is. I love him for so many reasons and I wanted to find some way romantic to remind him how special he is to me.

Key Messages:          I love him very much, I'd give anything to make him happy, he means everything to me, he is the best thing that ever happened to me... (I think you get the idea) He is my Best Friend, my Lover, my Companion for life and I appreciate everything he does for me.

Memorable Moments:     -Our first kiss 09/28/2000~ Both of us liked each other for a while but we were both to shy to say anything. The night of September 28th 2000 I finally got the courage to tell him. We walked along the lamp lit paths for talked for a while before heading back to his car... that's when it happened... I had butterflies in my stomach as I lent forward, the kiss was so magical. His lips were soft, and his breath was warm. When he took me in his arms it felt like the world had stopped around us.

-The day we got married 09/07/2001~ We could not afford a large wedding at the time... we were married in front of a judge with a handful of friends and relatives watching. THIS BIT HAS BEEN OMITTED BY REQUEST (he doesn't like to talk about it but I think it was cute!). It was a great feeling when he put that ring on my finger. I can't even begin to describe what that day meant to me, but it was definitely the best day of my life.

-A few months ago (03/11/2003) we had a major accident that totaled our car. A friend of ours fell asleep behind the wheel and hit the rear of an 18-wheeler. I was in the back seat and my husband was asleep in the passenger seat. I was so worried because I didn't know if he was okay and even the thought of losing him was too much to bare. We were however all very lucky and got out w/ minor injuries. The next couple months were a little stressful w/ the car and other expenses but we conquered them... and I think the experience made our marriage even stronger.

Other Comments:        - I just want him to know how much I appreciate his love and support in everything I do, He always tries to do little things to help me out and make day brighter when I'm sick or have a bad day, he is the sweetest guy I know and I love everything about him. One of the things I love most about him is that he's not one of those typical males... he is in fact one of those few jewels that are so hard to find, and somehow he found his was to me. He has so much respect for me and truly cares about my feelings and opinions. I don't know what I did to deserve him but I don't ever want to lose him. I want him to know that I'll be by his side no matter what life throws our way.

We were both 18 when we got married so we are a young couple and people often criticize us about that... let the world believe what they want... as long as you are in love then that's all that should matter because nothing can break the bonds of true love.

Although he doesn't think so, he is very talented and I am very proud of what he has achieved. He loves cuddling and doing other little romantic things... and he is very, very, very understanding. I love just being in his presence, he's a great listener and a wonderful husband. We don't have any children yet {that's still a few years off} but I think he'll make a great father someday...

Perfect Moments

Sometimes, I just sit there and wish,

I wish you could see 'you' through my eyes,

and then you'd know why I love you,

it would no longer be such a surprise.

Because the person that you'd really see,

he would be so wonderful (and that's the real you),

and I'm just so proud of who you are,

I'm very proud of what you do.

You see, you are really so very special,

and I appreciate everything that you do for me,

and I just wanted to say that I love you,

you make my world a better place to be.

I love you for so many reasons,

I love you in many a different way,

so now I'm going to tell you just that,

sit back, I'm finally going to have my say:

I do love you so very much,

I'd give anything to make you happy, deep inside,

and Josh, I couldn't have picked a better partner,

I couldn't - even if I'd tried.

You are the best thing that has ever happened to me,

you're my best friend, my companion, my lover for life,

and I just wanted to say thank you,

I'm very proud to be known as your wife.

And I remember our first kiss so very well,

it was so very magical, so hard to top,

your lips were soft, your breath was warm,

in your arms, I thought the world had stopped.

September 28th, in the year 2000,

it's a day I'll never, ever forget,

and for that you'll have my eternal gratitude,

Josh, to you, I'll forever be in your debt.

Because life is made up of perfect moments,

and normally there are long gaps that go in between,

but most of my perfect moments, I've spent with you,

I'm the happiest that I've ever been.

We couldn't afford a large wedding,

just a handful of relatives and close friends,

but that was undoubtedly the best day of my life,

and it will be until our journey ends.

And when we had the accident,

the thought of losing you was too much to bear,

and then I realized just how much I loved you,

I truly realized just how much I care.

But, together we've managed to pull through,

even though the ensuing months were a little hard,

but we've come through even stronger,

and only ever so slightly battle scarred.

You're the sweetest guy I know,

you're loving, considerate and so very kind,

indeed, you're like a rare and precious jewel,

treasured, and so very hard to find.

And somehow you found your way to me,

solemnly, I'd like to thank those winds of fate,

because to me, you're my everything,

my love, my friend, my soul-mate.

We were young when we were married,

but I'll be by your side when I'm grey and old,

and I'm looking forward to our stories,

as yet unwritten and untold.

No matter what life throws at us,
I know that together we'll see it through,
the bonds of true love can conquer anything,
and I really meant it when I said "I do".

And one day, sometime in the future,

I know you'll be a great father, the perfect Dad,

because the moments I've spent with you have been perfect,

they're the most perfect moments any girl's ever had.

"I would first like to say that the poem is GREAT! I started to cry when I was reading it and I know Josh's going to love it... thank you so much. Yes it would be fine to publish the poem, name and story, I just have 1 favor... If you could please not publish the part of the 'story' about (Josh's verse) as I said he finds it embarrassing. It's great in the poem but I don't think he'd want everyone else knowing... I know it might be a little difficult b/c it coincides with the poem, so if not that's okay, I'm sure you'll be fine w/ it. Thanks again for the poem, I'm really looking forward to seeing the final product once it is printed and everything. Also I would like to let you know that I think you are very talented. I've seen a number of the poems on your site... and it's easy to tell that you put a lot of effort into all your poems
