A Mother's Love
- From a mother to a mother to be
Full Name:
Teresa
Who do you want the poem written for?: DeAnna
Why do you want the
poem written ?: Because she is a very good friend of mine,
and after five years of being married she decided to become a mother.
Key Messages: My husband (Benny) and I
have been married 9 years
and have two beautiful children Marco and Carla (6&2)my husband has been
friends with her husband(Jerry) for many years and also knew her way before
I came into the picture... to make a short story short, I moved here from
Rome, italy after I met my husband (it was love at first sight). Anyway we
got married and then after a few years they did, we had children, and they
never mentioned they wanted any...see, DeAnna likes nice things, enjoys her
boat and also enjoys exercising and staying in shape and always obsessed on
eating right. So we never thought being a mother would ever cross her mind.
On week-ends they would come over, and after an evening with my children she
would admit that she would not want any children.
Even though we have some differences, she always was my friend, I felt
like I can talk to her no matter what, it was hard for me, because I left
all my friends behind and she kinda replaced some of that. The other day she
told me she went off the pill, she just feels ready to become a Mother and
she is very excited about it! When her husbands niece came in from Italy for
his brother's wedding, DeAnna noticed how Jerry was with this little girl
and realized that it was time...
Memorable Moments: We vacationed in Orlando
(Disney World) before we
had children and before they were even married, we rented a condo, we had a
Blast! My husband is afraid of rides and we will never forget the time he was
terrified on the E.T ride, he sat between two strangers and made me sit by
myself! He also made eggs for us one morning using a cookie sheet and smoked
up the whole condo. We went on a cruise with them another time, my husband
and I fought the whole time because I just wanted to relax and do nothing
for a whole week, I just wanted time away from the kids... but my husband
kept on bothering me to always have a "good" time ( in a sexual way ) and I
was just too tired, so Jerry and DeAnna found a lot of humour regarding this
and we joke about it all the time.
Other Comments: I just want her to know
that being a mother has its
challenges and it could be frustrating at times, but I can't imagine life
without my children. It may even take her a while to get pregnant due to
some past problems before, but it also took me a while and I also suffered a
miscarriage... but in the end i came through... I am here if she needs me
and I just want to remind her that in the long run the stretch marks she'll
get will only be a permanent tattoo of love, life is not only about boats,
going out, having nice things, looking your best and following every fashion
that comes out, being a mother hopefully will make her look at life in a
better way...
Style: Happy but inspirational
that will make her cry
Package Type: Unique
Last thoughts: I hope I made myself
clear, I hope it wasn't too
confusing... Thank you Teresa
A Mother's Love
It has been said very often,
and it's something that is often
wrote,
that there's more to life than
money,
than fast cars, a spacious house, a
shiny boat.
For, without love you have nothing,
and a mother's love is the greatest
love of all,
and everything else is tiny in
comparison,
even the Universe seems rather
small.
Because a mother's love is
unending,
it starts before the seed is even
sown,
and then it starts to bloom and
blossom,
but magically, it never becomes
overgrown.
And a mother's love never comes
easy,
there's loss, trials, tribulations
and the figure goes,
and the stretch marks become
tattoos of love,
and there are other challenges as
your baby grows.
But all of the hardship, the pain
and the strife,
all melt away like ice in the
summer sun,
because your baby gives you it's
warmth,
and then you realize, you're no
longer number one.
The realization that you'd gladly
die for your child,
is a tremendous shift in your state
of mind,
but you wouldn't change a day of
it,
and I know, that this is what
you'll also find.
Sometimes, when you're expecting a
child,
you will feel anxiety (just like
Benny on the ET ride),
and it's funny how life gives you
the most expectation,
just when you have an expectant
feeling on the inside.
Maybe, it'll take time for you to
conceive,
but it's just like that ride (up,
down, wondering when),
it'll make you laugh, it'll make
you scared,
but in the end you'd probably do it
all over again.
But we're just so very pleased for
you,
so we thought we'd share a few
words from our heart,
and please, don't be too impatient,
your baby will know when it's time
to start.
Benny and I married before you,
so I guess we were a little ahead,
but I know a mother's love is so
precious,
and maybe that's just enough said.
Apart from: When I came from Italy,
I'd left all of my friends behind,
and what I found in you was a
friend for life,
someone who is loving, generous and
kind.
And maybe destiny is already
written,
who knows what's determined in the
heavens above?
What we do know is that your baby
will have wonderful parents,
and of course, he will always have
a mother's love.

We actually went to five
drafts on this one (but we got there in the end). Teresa's final comments were:
"Thank you so much
and thanks for the wonderful poem for my friend.
