OPTION: SKIP REQUEST AND GO STRAIGHT TO POEM-A POEM ABOUT SOME GREAT GRANDPARENTS
Q1: What is your Name?
A1: Carinne Bryson Q2: What is your Email Address? A2: Q3: Who do you want the poem written for ? A3: The poem is for my grandparents who are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Nov. 25, 2000. Q4: Why do you want the poem written ? A4: I want the poem written, because I want to have a short poem on a quilt that I am making for them. It is a simple quilt of squares. There are 12 grandchildren, so each grandchild has a quilt with their name on it and a memory they have with grandma or grandpa. I though it would be nice to include a short written piece on it. Q5: What are the key messages you would like the poem to send ? A5: That they have been great parents and great grandparents. Q6: Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share ? A6: The grandson's all like grandpa's wise cracks he makes about grandma. They also like to play pool with grandpa, he helps them fix a car if they ever need it, and grandpa likes to show his guns to the grandson's. Grandpa likes to doze off and start snoring during a family get together. He also enjoys helping Ron(his son) at the shop, and helping the boys on the farm whenever he gets the chance. Grandma loves to cook, so you knew that if you ever went to grandma's you knew there would be some cookies. We would sometimes help her cook. Grandma also loves flowers and plants. She has many violets in her house. A couple times a year grandma and I make homemade rasberry jam. We even pick the rasberries from thier patch. My grandma and grandpa Flesher are very quiet people. They never get into any of anyone's business. Grandma and Grandpa Flesher have a very small family. They have five children--Lana, Ronny, Barb, Lisa, Jack and 12 grandchildren--Brad(29), Josh(26), Carinne(21,me), Brandon(16), Laura(15),Brock(14), Haily(13), Emily(12), Hilary (9), Cedric(7), Lexie(6),and Abby(4) Q7: Do you have any other comments or thoughts ? A7: I think that if the poem could be more of a happy anniversary and thank you for being such great grandparents, so it ties in with the quilt that I am making. Q8: What style of poem would you prefer ? (Happy, sad, romantic etc.) A8: Happy, and not very mushy. Great Grandparents
The grandsons all love their Grandpa,
you can tell he's nobody's fool,
because he'll fix their car for them,
and even let them win shooting pool !
He likes helping Ron at the shop,
or lending a hand down on the farm,
he can turn his skills to anything,
I guess that's part of his charm.
Grandpa is a bit of a snorer,
that's one of the noisier facts,
and we know that he loves Grandma,
but we still love to hear his cracks.
Grandma loves to cook,
she also loves flowers and plants,
and you must try her raspberry jam,
if you ever get the chance.
You won't ever meet a kinder person,
you'll never see a lovelier face,
Grandma is the strength,
the glue that holds everything in place.
And together they are perfect,
they make a beautiful dream,
a couple that were made for each other,
you can see that they're truly a team.
And they have been great parents,
and great grandparents too,
and we just wanted to say thanks,
a very big, in fact huge, heartfelt
thank you.
"Thank you so much for the
wonderful poem! It is great! I couldn't have done anything like it! It was
exactly what I wanted plus it was personalized! Thanks again!" Carinne
And after the party:
Thank you so much for the 50th wedding
anniversary for my grandparents. When I read the poem out loud
after dinner, there were few people in the room with dry eyes. Your poem
had a nice touch! We really enjoyed it!
Thanks again!
