Mum

Some people might say,
That blood is thicker than water,
And nothing could be stronger,
Than a mother's love for her daughter.

But you are exceptional,
And certainly, not a fool,
And you are the exception,
The exception to the rule.

You have been so nice,
More than a mother to me,
And you're one of the reasons,
I'm married so happily.

And there are the times,
You are more than simply kind,
Like when you button your lip,
When you'd rather speak your mind !

And as these inadequate lines,
Far too early come to an end,
I just want you to know,
You are more than just a friend.

That's all I want to say,
