A friend of mine decided to try and convert me. This was written in response to
my poem Oh My God ! This is her story..
Well hello - hope you don't mind, but thought I'd have a go - at writing a
poem myself - with some thoughts I have had in my head! I've approached Elton John about putting this
to music!!
Oh MY God !
"His name is Allen Jesson
And a mighty poem he doth write
He's so brave at airing his life
For all the world to bite
Many a question he doth have
About the life he's led
And what will all the future hold
Will he continue to be bold...
He wonders who has the answers
To why his Dad died so young
And who gave him the pleasure
Of the birth of his young son
Could it be I have the privilege
To at least have a go
Of giving him a glimpse
Of the God who loves him so
The God who knows your deepest thoughts
And understands your hurts
Who also wept with you and grieved with you
When your Dad did leave this earth
He really was there with you
If you look back and see
That there were those there with you
To demonstrate His love for thee
I know it wasn't easy
Cause I have been there too
And felt like throwing bricks at walls
For what my Dad went through
And about the gift of your dear son
Guess Who you can thank!
It gave Him so much pleasure
To give you this young life
So, I wonder if one day
You'll reconsider writing THAT poem
And instead of Oh My God it will be
oh MY god!"
