(Here's a good example of what can be achieved. Rita's daughter Laura had sadly passed away and wouldn't be there at her brother's wedding. Rita wanted something special for her son Eddie and his fiancée Jill. Rita has kindly given her permission for her poem and story to be published)

Laura’s Love

What is your name : Rita Huber

Who do you want the poem written for: my son Eddie and his fiancée Jill,

Why do you want the poem written: Eddies sister Laura passed away on May 1st 2003 during surgery for her 2nd liver transplant. Laura loved her family so very much. She had been married for only a few short years when she passed away, but so many times she would sit and talk with Eddie about how he needs to get his life in order and get married and raise a family.  She was always so concerned about her family, and was always so anxious for her older sister or younger brother to get married and give her nieces and nephews.  Her family and her husband was so very important in her life.  We know she is an angel now and with us all the time, but on her brothers wedding i'm sure she would like to let him know that she is with him and rejoicing in his happiness, and that she will be with him always, even tho he may not see her there.  Laura and her brother and sister was so very close from childhood right thru adulthood, and when she passed away it left such a void in all our lives.  Her father and I miss her so and each day is a struggle to go on, but we know she would want us too so thru tears and heavy hearts we do just that.  I'd like somehow to have a poem wrote to Eddie and Jill just as if Laura had written it herself, I know if she would have known how short her life was going to be she would have had this done before anything was to happen.  Laura Eddie and there sister Becky were very close to each other.  They all have there belief in God and there faith took them thru the shadowy days.  Her husband TJ was a very kind caring and loving person also.  I'd like to be able to read this to Eddie at his rehearsal dinner, and perhaps if there is time i would like to find something so very special to give him from her, and i think this will be what it is and something he can read and re read and always know his sis loved him and will always be there for him to talk to her.  She is our angel now, but will always be his sister and our daughter.

What are the key messages you would like to send: for eddie to know that laura will be with him on his special day.  For the family to know that she is there.  that faith and love will see them thru the hard times, the good times, the happy times and the sad times. i know she would want eddie to always remember the value of his vows and to make each day just as important and special as his wedding day will be.  Laura loved to laugh but she also was a good role model. She never settled for second best, only the best.  She was in her last year of college to become a elementary teacher.  Her love for children, her belief in her faith, and her family.  She was always willing to help everyone at any time.

Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: how Laura would continuously ask her sister and brother to give her a niece or a nephew (she wasn't able to have children of her own).  to remember the good times, the happier days, the days filled with laughter and joy.

Do you have any other comments or thoughts: to make this poem sound like it is coming from her lips and from her heart.  Something in days to come he will read them and know sis is still with him in spirit and always with loving thoughts of her. I'd like this to sound as if it came from Laura hand and heart.

What style of poem would you prefer (happy, sad, romantic etc.): romantic, a little sad, with positive words to her brother, maybe a little laughter, but yet something that will make anyone who reads it , treasure life and embrace those they love each day

Please choose which package you would prefer: Deluxe

Do you have any last comments or thoughts: can this be done with a calligraphy type, also all I want the poem printed out on one of your stationary paper preferably the rose print?
  (Yes. Ed)

Laura’s Love

“Tell Laura that I love her”,

well, I’ve always known that, here in my heart,

and I just wanted to say that right back,

but where on Earth could I possibly start?

Maybe I’ll begin my asking you to look skywards,

and thinking of me, here in the heavens above,

because indeed, I am your angel,

and you have given me the wings of your love.

And I just wanted to say sorry,

I’m sorry that I’m not there today,

but when your time’s done, it’s done,

and that one line leaves so much to say:

Because I want to say “live your life”,

(and it’s nice to see you’ve taken my past advice),

and for the record, you’ve chosen so very well,

Jill is a perfect wife (and she’s very nice).

Actually, I was always concerned about my family,

I just couldn’t wait for my nieces and nephews to come along,

but now I see, I should have been more patient,

because there’s so many just waiting to join your happy throng.

I know Mom and Dad also miss me a lot,

so please look after them on Planet Earth,

I for one, know their true and honest value,

yes, I know what my parent’s love was really worth.

But everything happens in it’s own good time,

so I’m sorry, for now, you’ll just have to wait,

but in the meantime, seize the day,

grab hold and steer the winds of fate.

And I know I said I wasn't there today,

but we all know that wasn't quite true,

how could I miss my brother's wedding day?

(Because Eddie, I've always been so proud of you).

And please don’t worry about me,

I want to see laughter, not tears, on your face,

you know I never settled for second best,

and this is truly a wonderful place.

So, remember the value of your vows,

remember the deeper reason in your rhyme,

and never lose faith that I’m with you,

because, trust me, I will be until the end of time.

Rita kindly replied:

"Dear Mr. Jesson,

Yes, this is the one.  I am so happy to see these words down and when I read them, it is just as if Laura is speaking each word.  Thank you so much for the time and all the effort you put into this poem.  I know on Eddies wedding day, his heart will be filled with  the happiness that he deserves, and peace within it.  Thank you again for all your time and effort you put into this poem,  I will never be able to thank you enough.

May God bless and keep you.

 Sincerely,

 Rita M. Huber

AND...

As far as the paper for the poem to be wrote on, I've talked to Beth and agreed to let her pick out what paper this poem would look best on.  I have faith in her choices.

She may also pick the card that would be appropriate also

Mr. Jesson I have read your poem over and over and have not yet been able to do so without the tears flowing.  When I read the words its just as if I can hear Laura saying each and every one of them.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving to my son the wedding gift his sister was not able to give him.  You have been blessed with such a beautiful gift for poetry.

Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Rita Huber

FINALLY....

Mr. Jesson, Please feel free to use this poem in your program, words that you have given to my son should be shared with so many others to help them to find words that they too are lost for.  It would be my honour to have you use them as you wish.

May God continue to bless you with the gift he has given you and the ability to share those abilities with others.

God bless you,

Rita Huber"
