I Love My Baby - A love poem from a new wife to
her husband.
Full Name:
Cyndi
Who do you want the poem written for?: Patrick
Why do you want the poem written ?: Our Wedding
Key Messages: How complete he has made
my life; I had always been
in bad relationships, and then I met him. I wasn't looking to date anyone
when we met, but I knew right away he was the one. Maybe hit on some of
the memories we have shared below - especially the one about the UI vs.
Michigan football game (the day we met), and any others you can work into
it - or all.
Memorable Moments: We met in Fort Myers where
we were both living. I
met him the day University of Illinois beat Michigan in football in 1999
(he kept standing up saying "I can't believe Illinois beat Michigan"). We
took a road trip together to Orlando, which we often look back on -
listening to "The Million Dollar" song and going to "The Big Bamboo";
Hanging out at the beach every weekend at the Lani Kai in Fort Myers. Then
he moved me up to Chicago at the end of February 2001 (to the cold). Then
in September so many bad and good things happened - September 11, 2001
being the bad one, which was also our yellow lab's (Payton is her name)
first birthday; we signed on our house on September 12th, spent out first
night in it on September 13, which is the night he proposed. It was a
total shock to me. His big thing that everyone always gets a kick out of
is him saying or screaming "I LOVE MY BABY!" All of our friends in Chicago
know that Pat loves his baby! Our wedding day is October 19, 2002 in
Florida.
Other Comments: I know I'm very particular
about things - picky or a
perfectionist, as he calls it - but he handles me well! I can be a major
pain and I love him for being able to deal with my "nagging" and
understanding that just seems to be who I am!
Style: Happy yet romantic, if
possible.
Package Type: Deluxe
I Love My Baby
Hello, my wonderful husband,
these lines are just for you,
because I'm proud of who you are,
and I'm proud of what you do.
You have made me feel whole,
you've simply made me feel
complete,
and I'm so proud to be standing
here,
it's a feeling that's hard to
beat.
I hadn't been very lucky in love,
that was until you came along,
and then all my nights turned
into days,
and I changed right from what was
obviously wrong.
I wasn't looking to date when I
met you,
but I knew right away that you
were the one,
I knew then that magic was in the
air,
I knew then that our lifetime,
together, had just begun.
And "I can't believe Illinois
beat Michigan",
famous words back in 1999,
but that was where we met,
and I'm so glad to be saying this
very next line:
You see, I do love you so very
much,
you mean more than the world to
me,
you mean more than the moon, the
stars, the Universe,
if you haven't guessed - you're
my better place to be.
I remember our road trip to
Orlando,
the start of many of our trips to
come,
because I'm looking forward to
growing old with you,
but before that, I'd like to
become a Mom :0)
I remember hanging out on the
beach,
and because you loved me you took
me to the cold,
and that's where our Chicago
story started,
but that's for another time to be
told.
Because September 11th shook our
very souls,
it could have been the beginning
of the end we supposed,
but I'm so very happy that two
nights later,
that was the special night when
you proposed.
I know that you "Love Your Baby",
and, I guess by now, all our
friends do as well,
well, "I Love My Baby" too,
I hope by now you can surely
tell.
And I know that I can be picky,
but I've picked you for the rest
of my life,
I'm proud to be your Baby,
and yes, I'm so very proud to be
your wife.

"Allen,
Fantastic job! I love the poem! I really don't feel you need to change
anything - unless you do. I like the way everything was worded - it's
perfect. As for the paper - there are three that I like: the beach
sunset, the boy and girl kissing, and the wedding cake. How would those
look in the frame? Would one look better than the other? Also, can you
ship it to my parents house in Florida so it will be there when we arrive
for the wedding? Once you respond, I will pick the paper and pay the final
payment. You say it's a work in progress - if you want to make changes,
just send them to me. However, I am pleased with it now. I look forward
to hearing from you, and thank you!
Cyndi"
Footnote: I decided not to make any further changes and I
printed the poem on all three styles of paper and shipped the poem to
Florida. FYI, Allen
