30th Wedding Anniversary Gift For Friends
You’ve been good friends of mine,
and I thought I should tell you that, but
it may take more than just the one line…
yes, a lot of water under the bridge since then,
but I’ll never forget your magical wedding,
why not? Let’s have a look at way back when…
bridesmaids, each resplendent in their sea-foam dress,
if I recall correctly, the weather was crisp and clear, a
good sign, for what was to become, a lifetime of happiness.
you seemed happy to anticipate your big day,
you were surrounded by friends and family,
and we all heard “I do”, when you had your say.
and your father was proud to walk that aisle,
of course, you were his only daughter, so
it’s no wonder he wore such a very big smile.
yes, I don’t think there’s been a more beautiful bride,
and I know that Richard couldn’t have chosen finer,
I know he couldn’t – even if he’d tried.
that’s what you solemnly promised to one another,
and now, 30 years later, you’ve proven those words, yes,
it’s true, you’re soul-mates, the other’s lifetime lover.
because truly, you are a personification of God’s love,
and I know I’ve been blessed to have shared you,
I know that I’ve been blessed by the heavens above.
rightly so, they are a credit to the pair of you,
and Richard, Linda, I just wanted to say ‘thank you’,
yes, I’m very grateful for all that you do.
and when it was tough, you put up your hand,
and when all else was flailing around me, you
