What are the key messages you would like to send: How much I love him.  Thank him for a wonderful year together.  Thanks for all of his love, support and understanding.  Thanks for bringing our two families together (second marriage).  He has two grown kids and one grandson and I have one teenage daughter.

Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: Our wedding was the most memorable because it was small and intimate and meant a lot that our children were part of the wedding party!  Another memorable moment is how I drove home from work during the aftermath of a small hurricane to be with him when I could have just as well spent the night at work!
 

Do you have any other comments or thoughts: I have know him for 7 years prior to our marriage and he nor I have changed.  We love spending time together.  His children are grown and live on their own so it's just me, him and my 14-year-old daughter (Carolyn).  We work out together.  He comes to all of my daughters soccer and basketball games.  We all vacation together as on big happy family!

Do you have any last comments or thoughts: I think that we have a very special relationship because our love has grown stronger since the marriage and actually since we first met.  It was LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT... I always knew he would be the person that I'd marry.  He was there for me 100% when my little dog (Bogie) died.  Bogie was my dog and became the family dog (miniature pomeranian) that Bert grew to love as much as Carolyn and I did.  It was very hard on me and my daughter when he died (he was 13yrs old).  Bert dug the hole and we buried him in the woods and had a little ceremony across from our beach house~  Bert is my financial and spiritual advisor.  He is most of all my best friend.  He adores me and my daughter.  And my daughter loves him as well!  We live in Washington, DC and had a fabulous wedding ceremony in South Beach, Miami!  It took place with about 60 of our closest friends and family in attendance on the Hotel pool terrace overlooking the ocean on a beautiful summer day.  We are headed back this August for our one year anniversary (hopefully it won't rain)~ with some of our friends (no kids allowed :<) Hopefully you can put into words how much Bert means to me and how much I have cherished our many years together and even more so as Husband and Wife!  FYI  We met at work (in the television business) and fell in love.  He is an anchor reporter and I was a television director.  We now work at competing stations but we don't share company secrets in bed!
 

The very first time that I saw you,

well, I couldn’t believe my own eyes,

because I knew then, I’d marry you,

although eight years later, this probably comes as no surprise.

But our love has grown ever stronger since then,

and in truth, it grows stronger every day,

and I know our love will continue to grow,

and thankfully, that’s the way it will always stay.

I just wanted to say “I love you”,

and thanks for a wonderful year together,

ours is a journey that’s unfolding,

but it’s one that’ll last forever and ever.

Thank you for all your love and understanding,

and sincerely, thanks for your wonderful support,

thanks for your spiritual and financial guidance,

I’m very grateful for every lesson that you’ve taught.

I’ve directed, but you’ve been my anchor,

and without you, I’d be lost at sea,

because ever since that first moment,

well, you’ve made my world a better place to be.

And I know that life isn’t always easy,

and sometimes, it’s not a rose filled dream,

but you have brought our two families together,

and undoubtedly, we do make a remarkable team.

Our wedding day was so memorable,

intimate, and our children made up the happy throng,

it was important they witnessed our coming together,

Mr. and Mrs. Right, undoing all the wrong.

I remember driving home after the hurricane,

it would have been more sensible to have stayed put,

but I guess I just wanted to be with you,

it would’ve been the same if the shoe were on the other foot.

We haven’t changed in all our eight years,

we love spending time together, soul-mate with soul–mate,

we work out, we vacation, we watch Carolyn’s games,

we’re together, ships side by side on the winds of fate.

You were there for me when Bogie died,

and I was thankful for your caring touch,

and there were tears at our beachside ceremony

and I know you too, loved him very much.

I also know that you adore Carolyn and I,

well, let me tell you, we both love you too,

you’re my best friend, you’re my hero,

and Bruce, my anchor, I’m very proud of you.

And I just wanted to say Happy 1^st Anniversary,

I guess that’s really what these words are for,

here’s to you, Bruce, you’re truly wonderful,

and here’s to our everlasting love, for evermore.
