Graduation Poem For Daughter
(This is a good example of just what can be achieved. Holly wanted a graduation gift for her daughter Brooke. This gift was made all the more special because Brooke's father had sadly died the year before…)
"I love it. This is beautiful and hits everything thank you so much . Yes you can publish if you wish and the story. Her father was the fire chief in our little town, I dont think I mentioned that for the poem. Holly Kelley" (in the end we decided not to use the fire chief information and just went with the first draft).
What is your name : Holly Kelley
Who do you want the poem written for: Brooke
Why do you want the poem written: Brooke is graduating this year and she is very special to me . We have had some rough times but she has been my rock since my husband, her dad died on 1-1-07
I want her to know how much I love her and how much her father loved our little red headed girl, she has a beautiful smile and lots of love
What style of poem would you prefer (happy, sad, romantic etc.): happy , inspiring, and sad
Please choose which package you would prefer : Deluxe
Would you like a copy of the handwritten drafts : Yes
What are the key messages you would like to send: I want her to know that I am so proud of her . How beautiful my red head has become, a beautiful strong woman. I want her to go toward her dreams and stay true to her heart . I want her to learn to forgive when there are times in her life that she needs to . I want her to know that her father loved her so much. That he is smiling and crying watching her on her special day
Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: Since 1995 to 2006 her and her dad never missed a father , daughter dance. To going on a family vacation and her having to wear her brothers underwear and her singing I have a pocket ( she was only 3 ) She loves sports and is great a softball, and when she hurt her knee in a basketball game, watching her dad pick her up and throw her over his shoulder and take her off of the court was a tear jerker. She has such a beautiful smile
Do you have any other comments or thoughts : I just want her to know how much I love her, respect her, and how proud I am
of her. She has been there for me and I want her to know that I will always be there for her.
Never Missed
Brooke, I know we've gone through some valleys,
but I want you to know, you make me very proud,
and I want you to know how much I love you, and
if your Dad was here, he'd say that right out loud.
Because your father loved his little red haired girl,
but today, you are looking all, just so grown up to me,
and Brooke, I just wanted to thank you for being you,
you've made my world a much better place to be.
I want to say I'm proud of you, but
to be honest, I'm not sure where to begin…
because you've been my rock since your Dad died,
'though, even in the tough times, you still made me grin.
Because you have a beautiful smile, you're filled with love,
and that love shines from your very within, right out,
and before me, I see a beautiful redheaded woman,
a woman who has taught me what true love is all about.
You've been so strong for me, my granite,
but from today, I want you to go forward and up,
we've both had our fair share of unhappiness, so,
now it's time to drink from life's bountiful cup.
So, please go on boldly, towards your dreams,
and always, always, stay true to your heart,
yes, you're also going to have to learn to forgive,
but it's not hard once you try, go on, make a start!
So, we're sorry you had to wear your brother's underwear,
but that's what you get on vacation, I suppose,
but I'll never forget you singing "I have a pocket"
but I'm glad it wasn't a singing career that you chose.
Because you're just so good at softball and basketball,
although when your Dad carried you off, that made me cry,
and Brooke, I just wanted you to know what you mean to me,
or at least, I wanted to give it my very best try.
You see, I love you, I respect you, I'm proud of you,
you've been there for me and I'll be for you, right back,
because I am so proud of my beautiful, redheaded woman,
you're so talented, in this life, you've certainly got the knack.
So use your heart and those talents wisely my girl,
and then you can have it all, here on planet Earth,
and in the meantime, just know that you're truly loved, yes,
your Dad and I really appreciate your true and honest worth.
Because I know that your father loved you so,
and he's here, smiling, crying, watching you, today,
and if I said that I love you too, I'm proud of you,
then I don't think I'd have much left to say.
Apart from: Sometimes we can't control life,
yes, some things happen, purely by chance,
but on other matters, we are our own masters,
that's why your Dad never, ever missed a dance.

"Mr. Jesson,
Thank you so much for the poem. I received it yesterday and Rob and I both loved it. It was packaged so nicely and attractive. Rob loved the poem. He said it was the most original and most thoughtful thing anyone had ever done for him. He loved it. Thank you so much!! Thanks again, Hannah Frampton."
