I Am Proud Of You Poems

When you want to say “I am proud of you” what better way than in a custom written poem? Especially when you combine it with the magical words “I love you”. Here’s a good example of just what can be achieved. Let’s let Lynn tell her story…

Why do you want the poem written: he has been working really hard, and we haven’t had alot of time together- I want him to know I am thinking about him and that am proud of how hard he works and how much I appreciate the little things he does every day to make me feel special

What are the key messages you would like to send: I love him and don’t know where I would be without him in my life. He is my best friend, my love, my confidante, and my rock. I am a better person because he is in my life, and his support motivates me to actually want to go the extra mile.

Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: He has an extremely sharp wit, so it’s hard to pick a time when I’m NOT laughing at something he’s said or commented upon. He also shares a love for random songs from RANDOM movies; ex: the mountain goat’s song in Hoodwinked (Be Prepared), quotes from Idiocracy like “Brawndo’s got what plants crave”; his initial formal date invitation was so creative and quirky too- he is a software engineer and emailed me a link to a site that said “Lynn will you go to formal with me”, but when I went to click on the Yes button, it immediately navigated me to the No…I couldn’t click Yes! So I finally clicked No, and he had another page prepared that said “I can’t believe you said no! GOSH”…it was so funny

Do you have any other comments or thoughts: I love the notes he leaves in my sandwiches and how he makes me “sammies” everyday while he’s at work; I love that he believes in me and is so patient and wonderful.

Gosh!

Steve, I wanted to get you something special,
as lesser mortals would be feeling battle scarred,
we haven’t had a lot of time together, and yes,
I know, you have been working really hard.

So I want you to know that I’m thinking about you,
in truth, I love you, with all my heart and soul,
for with you in my life, I know I am complete, yes,
you are the one that makes me completely whole.

Just know that I am proud of how hard you work,
and I appreciate all the little things that you’ve done,
in fact, you are my inspiration, my light,
in every way, you are like my morning sun.

Those little things you do make me feel special,
and I don’t think there’s a better feeling on this Earth,
and Steve, I just wanted to thank you for being you,
yes, I really do appreciate your true and honest worth.

I don’t know where I’d be without you in my life,
you’re my love, my confidant, my rock, my best friend,
and I want you to know just what you mean to me,
and I think you will before these lines have their end.

You see, I am a better person because of you,
your support motivates me to go that extra mile,
actually, it’s your love that makes me want that yardage,
yes, I’d do anything for you and that gorgeous smile.

In fact, it’s more like a cheeky chappy grin and
I am always laughing at something you have said,
you have an extremely sharp wit, so good with words, so
it’s no wonder you talked and charmed me into your bed.

But first you had to get me to the formal and
try as I might, your anchor wouldn’t let me say “yes”,
but even so, despite your “Gosh”, we went along and
I knew then that we were destined for love and happiness.

Mind you, I never thought a goat would prepare me,
nor be lucky enough to know just what plants crave,
and I do love the notes that you leave in my sammies,
do you know? Most of them, I carefully, lovingly save?

But then again, that’s because you’re so wonderful,
you’re patient and I love it that you believe in me,
and Steve, I just wanted to say thanks, I love you,
ever since “Gosh!”, my world’s been a great place to be.

Thank you so much, the poem is so beautiful! I really love it and appreciate so much the hard work and time it must have taken to write exactly what I had in mind. I would not mind at all if you published it on your site, as well as the story- would it be all right though if identifying details were kept to a minimum for privacy’s sake?

For the card, I think the red satin ribbon selection is beautiful. I absolutely LOVE this verse :

That verse is so perfect, it seriously sums up alot of our relationship! It is great! For the personal message, I’d just like to say, “Steve, I wanted to give you something that would not only let you know how much I love you, but may also represent all of the things I’ve wanted to say to you but could not seem to find the words. Hopefully, you will agree that this poem says it all. I love you and have cherished every minute of the last four and half years with you, and look forward to the many more to come!”
