First Wedding Anniversary Gifts For Wife
Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: We started dating 10 years ago this June. We met at work and while at a bar named Boogie Nights, we shared our first kiss as Copacabana by Barry Manilow played in the background. A year later we moved in together and Kim started attending classes for her first bachelor degree. I then lost my job in 2001 and also started attending school for my Masters. We fell upon some hard times but due to her commitment and diligence we made it through by paying off of our debt and eventually buying our first home together in 2005. As the years flew by, I realized more and more how lucky I am to have someone like Kim in my life. So on June 2, 2007 (our 8 year dating anniversary) I finally proposed after a romantic dinner at the Geneva Chophouse and a horse carriage ride downtown Lake Geneva Wisconsin. She was pretty surprised to say the least. We had a beautiful wedding on May 10, 2008 at St. Mary’s church and a wonderful reception at The Onion Pub. It was a great and memorable day. We then went to Maui and Kauai for our honeymoon where we explored the islands together, snorkeled, and saw our sun rise on top of Mt. Haleakala. A couple of weeks ago Kim surprised me with the wonderful news that we will be expecting our first child this November and we can soon share our love as we grow our family. I’m in complete awe in everything that has happened in the last 10 years, all the ups and downs we experienced which just made us closer and stronger. I couldn’t imagine being happier than I am now.
there’s a lot of love in just the one line,
and Kim, I wanted to say I’m proud of you,
yes, I’m very proud of that wife of mine.
My! How rapidly that time has flown,
a time when we’ve come together, yes,
a time when our love has really grown.
that’s why I wanted to get this down in ink,
as Kim, I know I couldn’t love you any more,
yes, it’s time you knew exactly what I think.
and Kim, you really do mean the world to me,
and I just wanted to thank you for being you,
to thank you for making my world a great place to be.
and I’d like to thank you for all that you’ve done,
because your love has been my inspiration, my light,
in every way, you have been my morning sun.
you have brought only happy sunshine into my life,
and I hope we have many happy years together,
happily fulfilled, hand in hand, as husband and wife.
do you know, we started dating, 10 years ago, this June?
I’ll never forget our first Copacabana kiss, in that moment,
our destinies changed forever, with the turn of a rune.
funny, as you went out searching for bachelorhood,
then I lost my job and tried to Master things, we
struggled, but thanks to you, we turned out pretty good.
we made it through and paid off all our debts,
that allowed us to buy our first home in 2005 and
as the years flew by, it was as good as it gets.
so on June 2, 2007, I thought of a carriage ride,
I think you were surprised to say the least because
at St. Mary’s, you became my beautiful blushing bride.
if I remember, a great and memorable time was had by all,
we then went on to Maui and Kauai for our honeymoon,
where we witnessed Universal majesty, we saw stars fall.
so spectacular, it nearly took my breath away,
but not so much as your wonderful surprise,
November, I just can’t wait for that magical day.
that’s when our love becomes truly personified,
and I know our little ‘pie’ couldn’t have chosen finer,
I know he or she couldn’t – even if they’d tried!
in fact, I think you’ll be the finest on planet Earth,
as Kim, you are a truly incredible wife, yes,
I really do appreciate your true and honest worth.
all the ups and downs, the laughter and yes, the tears,
but that roller coaster has just made us closer, stronger,
no, I wouldn’t change a day in these last 10 years.
and I wanted to explain all that, or at least, to try,
but maybe we said it all, with just SP-LUB-SP,
yes, I love you, my one and only, my Sweetie Pie.
