If you’re looking for gifts for dads 60th birthday then why not do what Brittany did and help create A Gift of Poetry? As Brittany has kindly given her permission for her story to be told, I’ll let her take it from here… What is your name : Brittany and Cheree (Sisters) Who do you want the poem written for: Our Dad Why do you want the poem written: Dad’s 60th Birthday…need by this Saturday What style of poem would you prefer (happy, sad, romantic etc.): I want it to HONOR my dad and let him know there is no greater father than him Please choose which package you would prefer : Ribbon Would you like a copy of the handwritten drafts : No What are the key messages you would like to send: Tell Dad he is OUR true HERO, let him know how blessed we are that he is our father and that the older I get the more I realize that I want to be like him, that the greatest compliment is for someone to say that I remind them of my dad. I am so lucky that he is our father and blessed that he is my childrens grandfather. Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: I remember my dad being at every event, parade, prefomance that we ever had giving us the thumbs up for a job well done. I remember his shadow running behind us as he taught us patiently to ride our bikes. Making pancakes on the weekends. After working long hours, my father always had time to play with us after work, even the neighbor kids would ring our door bell asking if my dad could play. He is able to fix anything from tractors to a broken hair dryer. Our little cheeeks would always be red from daddy’s mustache kisses. My dad did not have any sons but made sure his daughters knew how to shoot a gun. He read us our bedtime stories every night and was the best storyteller even if he read the SAME story every single night. Do you have any other comments or thoughts : My father is a marine and fought in the vietnam war, he lost his best friend in the war. He is VERY proud to be a marine and it is a BIG part of who he is. He taught us a love of country, to be loyal, patriotic and proud of who we are. He also has a love of the outdoors especially camping and hunting even though he raised two girls! As a marine my dad is a hero, but as our father he is our true hero! Far Greater Feats Hello, our wonderful father, And we just wanted to say “we love you”, Firstly, we’d like to begin by looking skywards, So Dad, we really want to honor you, yes, Superman, Batman, Spiderman, no way, You see, the greatest compliments I ever get, well, I remember you being at every event, every parade, Recall how we used to make pancakes on the weekends? Because you can fix anything, from tractors to hair driers, Thanks for reading us a bedtime story every night, But we do know that you lost your best friend in that war, Because as a marine, Dad, you were a hero, We both know that you had to be brave in battle, And Dad, we just wanted to say thank you, We also wanted to say Happy 60th Birthday, Copyright Allen Jesson Brittany kindly replied: Your unique thoughts and feelings meaningfully wrapped within Please click here “That worked. We love the poem and thank you for your hard work…..”

Gifts For Dads 60th Birthday
these special words are just for you,
because we’re proud of who you are,
and yes, we’re very proud of what you do.
but to be honest, we didn’t know where to start,
so we thought we’d share a few feelings, and
give you some words, straight from the heart.
and thanking those in the heavens above,
because we know we’ve been blessed to have shared you,
we know that we have been blessed with your love.
it’s true, there’s not a finer father on this Earth,
and we both just wanted to say thank you, yes,
we do appreciate your true and honest worth.
Dad, you are our true hero, no word of a lie,
and the older we get, the luckier we feel,
I’d better explain all that, or at least, I’ll try.
it’s when someone says I remind them of my Dad,
and I know I am just so lucky to be standing here, and
yes, you’re the best grandfather any child has ever had.
every performance; thumbs up for a job well done,
I remember that you taught us to ride our bikes,
I remember your shadow, protecting us, from the sun.
No matter how hard you worked, you always made time for us,
even the neighbor’s kids would ring and ask if “Dad” could play,
and you always did, you never, ever made much of a fuss.
although your moustache kisses made our little cheeks red,
and even though you didn’t have any sons, that mattered not,
take aim, steady, FIRE! Was something we’ve heard said.
it was the same story EVERY night, read by the very best,
but then again, you’ve always been a patriot, a marine,
and when it mattered, you stood tall and survived the test.
and we can’t change that, but I’m sure he’s here tonight,
because we’ve been taught well, we’re loyal, we’re patriotic,
we’re proud of who we are and if we had to, yes, we’d fight!
but as our father, you’re so much more than that,
you’re our mentor, our leader, our guide, our father,
our teacher, our light – and that’s a matter of fact.
but we think, far greater feats have happened every day,
camping, hunting, bike riding, playing, bedtime stories,
yes, it’s just one line but with a helluva lot to say.
we’ve never really said just how wonderful you are,
but if our love for you were a distance, well,
it would reach way beyond the furthest star.
I guess that’s really what these words are for,
here’s to you, Dad, you’re truly wonderful,
and here’s to your everlasting love, for evermore.
