  First Anniversary Gift Ideas

  

  If you’re looking for first anniversary gift ideas, then this is a good example of just what can be achieved.   I knew from the moment I met her, that there was something special in her eyes. Even when we were not dating, I thought of her often. Our love continues to strengthen through life’s challenges. I look forward to growing old with her.
  Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or other memorable moments that you’d like to share: We met at work and initially the timing was wrong (she cancelled our first date). I moved away and came back, ultimately: we came together at the perfect time in each other’s life. I will never forget our first kiss. Though difficult (I have been in nurse practitioner school for most of our dating and all of our married life) her sacrifices and understanding will be worth it (graduate this December). I look forward to being able to provide better for our family, being a father and Brooke, a mother (one day hopefully soon). We have traveled to Hawaii, been on a cruise, and love traveling together.

  Brooke, I wanted to get you something special,
  something treasured, you know, that sort of thing,
  because you have been the sparkle in my life,
  yes, you’ve proven the gold, in this wedding ring.

  You see, my life is so complete with you and

  I knew from the moment that we met, well,
  by now, I guess this comes as no surprise,
  but I knew that destiny was about to change, yes,
  I know there was something special, in your eyes.

  They were like mysterious pools, speckled with light,
  and when I looked deep, I saw my future, laid out bare,
  and twelve months ago, today, that fortune was told, as I said
  "I do" to my beautiful Brooke (remember? You were there).

  Do you know? Even when we were not dating,

  We’ve both come a long way from meeting at work,
  and in a way, I’m glad that you cancelled our first date,
  because when I came back, it was perfect timing and
  I knew then I had found my one and only, my soul mate.

  Brooke, thanks for making my world a great place to be.

  Mr. Jesson,
   
  I like the poem.  The only major revision that I would like would be:

  Look, Brooke, I know it hasn’t been an easy start, but

  hey! Who says life is supposed to be a rose filled dream?
  But through it all, we’ve loved and stayed together, yes,

  we’ve proven to the world, we truly are a team.

  I personally think that this could just be deleted.  We have never really had any ups and downs in our relationship.  She has just had to adapt to our life together 24/7 to having her be understanding of my schooling and the decreased time we spend together today, so we can have a better future.  She is going to love it.
