Birthday Gift

achieved. Wendy had tragically lost her previous family through some simply horrendous circumstances (see feedback at bottom for details). She
then met and married Michael and wanted
something special for his birthday. Wendy has kindly and bravely given her permission for her poem and story to be published)
My Very Own Angel

What is your name : wendy woods
Who do you want the poem written for: my
husband Michael
Why do you want the poem written: his birthday is
February 17 and I want to let him know what a special person he is to me. he
is an angel sent from above.
What style of poem would you prefer (happy, sad,
romantic etc.): happy and sad
What are the key messages you would like to send :
he is a hero to me. we got together after my tragic loss of my 3 children. I
didn't think it possible to live and love as i once did. he came back into my
life (we went to high school together) and picked up the broken me and began
to show me how to smile again and most important how to love someone in a way
i thought was never possible. he saved my life
Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or
otherwise memorable
moments that you would like to share :he took me to universal studios
to show me a fun time. We called that trip just havin fun! but we connected
and feelings started to grow. what was supposed to be a two day trip turned
into the rest of our lives.
he gave me a purpose for living when I became a mom again on september
29. our son dylan was born.I love the way he loves me. I feel safe in
his arms. he calls me " my world" or " my queen" he is my sweetheart. though I
lost my previous family in death he is my reason for being. through all the
tears I have cried he is always there loving me and lifting me up so I can
carry on.
Do you have any other comments or thoughts: my
husband is my angel sent from above. I love him more than I could ever say. I
look forward to a lifetime of showing my sweetheart how truly amazing he is to
me

created. I'm privileged to be his wife. I want to thank him for choosing me to
share his life. He is the best part of my life!!!!
My Very Own Angel
Michael, undoubtedly, you are my
hero,
you are a magnificent angel, sent
from above,
and I know I've been blessed to
have shared you,
I know that I've been blessed with
your love.
I wanted you to know just how
special you are,
truly, you are majestic, simply one
of a kind,
and I wanted to tell you of my love
for you,
but I do have a few other things on
my mind:
You see, life had dealt me such a
cruel blow,
probably, it's the cruellest blow
that life can give,
and to me, I was stuck in a long
and dark tunnel,
there was no light, to be honest, I
didn't want to live.
I didn't think it was possible to
live and love again,
but that was before you came back
into my life,
and now, there's still sadness, but there's more gratitude,
because I'm very proud that I am
known as "your wife".
In a different life, we went to
high school together,
but you came back to rescue the
broken "me",
and I just wanted to thank you for
being you,
you've made my world a much better
place to be.
You taught me how to begin, how to
smile again,
it was like a summer's rainbow
after a winter's storm,
you became the radiant sunshine in
my life, with you,
the clouds evaporated before they'd
had a chance to form.
And most importantly, you taught me
how to love again,
but this was a new kind of love, a
totally different way,
honestly, it was a love that I
thought was impossible,
and that one line leaves so very
much left to say;
Because, and I don't want to sound
too melodramatic,
but you saved my life, I was truly
down and gone,
for your love has been my light, my
inspiration,
unconditionally, it has always
brightly shone.
You took me to Universal Studios to
show me a fun time,
and we called that trip "just
having fun"!
But we connected and our feelings
started to grow,
and where there were clouds before,
now there was only sun.
What was supposed to be just a two
day trip,
well, that turned into the rest of
our lives,
and you re-gave me a purpose for
living
but I guess that's normal for all
angel's wives.
I became a mom again on September
29th,
and truly, Dylan is literally our
dreams personified,
and I know he couldn't have chosen
a finer father,
I know he couldn't - even if he'd
tried.
Because I love the way that you
love me,
and in return, I love you with all
my soul,
for with you in my life, I feel
complete,
you are the one that makes me
completely whole.
I feel so warm and safe in your
arms,
it's like my very own angel has his
wings unfurled,
and by now, you surely know that
you're "my sweetheart",
and I love it, because you say I'm
your queen, your world.
And although I lost my family in
such tragic circumstances,
and of course, their memory can
never be replaced,
but you and Dylan are now my reason
for living,
because now I know, time spent can
never be retraced.
And you're always there for me,
lifting me up,
I wouldn't have survived if you
weren't such a giver,
and you've always been there to dry
my tears,
and as you well know, I've cried me
a river.
I love you more than words could
ever say,
but I've given you a glimpse
of what's here, in my heart,
and I just wanted to say thank you
to my angel,
I'd like to thank you for giving me
another start.
Because The Lord giveth and The
Lord taketh away,
and I surely know what those words
have meant,
but in you, He has given me my very
own angel,
because Michael, undoubtedly, you
were heaven sent.
And I look forward to sharing a
lifetime with you,
sharing that lifetime, with
everything that it brings,
I look forward to showing you how
truly amazing you are,
I look forward to showing you how
to share those wings.
Because what you have must be
shared all around,
there many who need care on this
planet Earth,
but in the meantime, just know that
I love you,
yes, I know my angel's true and
honest worth.
If you were human, you would simply
be perfection,
never a more wonderful person could
God possibly create,
so I feel truly privileged to share
you and to be your wife,
because I know I have my very own
angel as my soul-mate.
And I just wanted to say Happy
Birthday, Michael,
I guess that's really what these
words are for,
here's to you, Michael, you're
truly wonderful,
and here's to our everlasting love,
for evermore.

"Allen, that was so amazing. I
couldn't stop crying. the part about universal studios I need you to take out
" a bit" and just have it say "just havin fun". We have a souvenir that says
just that. Also the 19th paragraph has a mistake. It should say there are
many, it says any many. (Changed in second draft. ED) And yes you have
permission to publish the poem. You don't have to change our names. I would like the
heart card and the
paper I want it on is the satin. Does the autograph and the handwritten draft
cost extra? (No! ED) If not then I would really like that a lot. I'm so blown
away by what you have written I can't think of any major changes. Get back
with me soon. again thank you. My husband is an amazing man. I think he's
going to love this. Thank You, Wendy Woods"
A few days later...
"Allen, I wanted to say that I
showed my mom the web site. We read
footprints. You see I didn't tell you the
whole story. I lost my 3 children in death. But this was due to my 1st husband
killing them and then killing himself. He had depression. But 7 months later
my brother also killed himself. My brother sounded just like the man in the
poem footprints. I wish that people would realize the aftermath of these kinds
of actions before they did them. So you see my husband is very special to me
because he has had to see me through a lot!!!! The poem you wrote definitely
has me excited to give my husband this special gift for his birthday. I would
like to e-mail again to let you know how he liked it. Thank you for helping to
put into words what was in my heart. Thanks again, Wendy Woods"

My husband
loved the poem. We both cried. The poem was packaged so beautiful. I would
