Why do you want the poem written: I want this poem to be written for a wedding gift that I will give to my husband-to-be on our wedding day July 18th, 2009.

What are the key messages you would like to send: I want Ryan to know how much I love him.  I want him to know he has turned my life completely around, before Ryan and I started dating I was in a physically and mentally abusive relationship for 4 years.  He has not only taken on a relationship with me but he has taken on being a dad to my 4 year old daughter Madison.  Ryan has given me strength and encouragement when I needed it the most.  I couldn’t tell you where Madison and I would be without Ryan in our lives.

Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: The most embarrassing but very funny moment was when we went to San Antonio Teaxs for a vacation and we used the KY warming massage oil instead of the orginial KY.  We were both on fire! Never will we do that again!
Also, I would like to mention the time my grandmother passed away.  Watching my grandma pass away was the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life.  Ryan stood by me the entire time.  I can’t tell you how much it meant to me to have his shoulder to cry on.

Ryan’s Love

Love is never tired of waiting;
love is kind; love has no envy;
love has no high opinion of itself,
love has no pride;
Love’s ways are ever fair,
it takes no thought for itself;

Now, Ryan, these words were written a long time ago,
but the meaning, the sentiment, still rings so true,
because now I know the meaning of real, true love,
yes, I admit, I’m head over heels in love with YOU.

You see, you have made such a difference to me,
yes, you have turned my life, completely around,
and I know that Madison and I are just so grateful,
after a nightmare, it’s true happiness that we’ve found.

You have given me, us, so very much, you’ve given me
strength and encouragement when I needed it the most,
I couldn’t tell you where Madison and I would be without you,
certainly lost, souls probably wandering, on some skeletal coast.

Watching my grandma pass away was just so difficult, truth,
it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in this life,
but you stood by me the entire time, you were my rock,
that is why, today, I will be so proud to be called “your wife”.

And Ryan, I just wanted to thank you for being you,
as I’ve never really said just how wonderful you are,
just know that if my love for you were a distance, well
it would reach way beyond the furthest star.

And I just wanted to say Happy Wedding Day,
I guess that’s really what these words are for
here’s to you, Ryan, you’re truly wonderful,
and here’s to our everlasting love, for evermore.

“Hi Allen, the poem is great!  The only part I dislike is what is
highlighted in red.  I don’t care much for the writing in third
person. I know it’s just a rough draft but I have changed it in
RED to what I would like it to say:
