'Cause, That’s My Girl
What is your name :
Pam Kulien
Do you have any
funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would
like to share: When she was young she got into sooo much mischief.
Once I had just cleaned the kitchen and I woke up to find her in the kitchen,
standing on the chair and there was flour and eggs and rice and sugar in the
sink. she was stirring it with a wooden spoon and as I was about crazed, she
says to me precious as can be "Momma I am baking you a cake" her smile melted
my heart although there was a huge mess EVERYWHERE. She was only 3 years old
and a day I will treasure always.

'Cause, That’s My Girl
This is hard for me to express all of my emotions, “'cause, that’s my girl”, well, it’s her wedding day, and I’ve got so much love in my heart, to be honest, I’m not sure what I’m going to say.
Ahhh, my baby did so love her scissors, and there wasn’t a ladder she wasn't afraid to climb, and now Momma wants to say a few words, because you’ve always put the reason in her rhyme.
Theresa, I remember when you were just 6 weeks old, your grandma babysat, loving you with all her heart, and now my little girl has gone and grown up, now, where on Earth can I possibly start?
And although we never had a lot of money we always took the time to enjoy the simple things in life, we’d just play in the sand at Salt Water State Park, (and there’s a great tip for every new wife).
Your heart is so giving, your smile is so enchanting, you seem to give out love for goodness sake, but I do remember the time; flour, eggs, rice and sugar, there was a mess everywhere: “Momma, I am baking you a cake”.
Your smile melted my heart that day, you were 3 years old and you showed such common sense, and then there was the time I suggested counting cows, but there were glasses of chocolate milk going over the fence!
I remember the time you were my little ballerina, and quite aptly, you named yourself, Princess Starlove, and that wasn’t at all bad for a four year old, because I knew I’d been blessed by the heavens above.
We’ve shared so many wonderful memories, in truth, there’s just too many to individually list, just know that each and every one is simply precious, Theresa, there’s not one that I would’ve missed.
You also know all that glitters is not gold, as you’re beautiful on the inside and the out, and Theresa, you’ve taught me so much in life, you’ve taught this Momma what true love is all about.
And I like it that you’re not at all materialistic, but it’s also nice to see you like the very best, and I know that’s why you've chosen Daniel, (Daniel, it’s okay, you’ve already passed the mom-in-law test!).
I’m so proud of the woman you’ve become, and I’m so happy that you love Daniel so, and I know you’re going to live lifetimes of happiness, but there are a few other things that you should know.
We’ve always been so very, very close, to be honest, you’ve been my very best friend, and we've always communicated very well, so there's one last message I'd like to send:
I used to say “'cause, that’s my girl” so many times, because so often, you used to make me proud, and now I really want to sing your praises, I want to get on rooftops and sing them out loud.
I remember smiling wide and saying it so often, and sure, it wasn’t always a rose filled dream, but through it all, we stuck together, we proved to the World we truly are a team.
And June 19th will always be a special day, although I must admit, the last few weeks have been a whirl, but today is the first day of the rest of your lives, and I know Daniel will love you forever ('cause, that’s my girl).

In the end, we went to three drafts but Pam said some really nice things
along the way (so I thought I'd share them with you):
"I love the poem. It is just beautiful and thank you soooo much. You are truly a giving person and I feel very blessed to have found you. Thank goodness for Google." "PERFECTION and thank you Allen.....I just love this and this will be so very
special for her special day." and the key
verse to be "cause, that's my girl"
"
Hello Allen - OH MY GOODNESS...I just returned home from holiday and the
poem arrived and I have read this over and over and admired the beauty you
have created. Allen, I just can not thank you enough. This far exceeds what
I even hoped for.
